Journal Evaluation - Is Google getting too good?

Journal Evaluation

1. A complete citation for the journal

Orr, B. (2007). Is Google getting too good? ABA Banking Journal, 9(10), 69-70.

2. Strategy for finding the journal article

I used the database that you provided for me called Business Source to find the journal.

3. Rationale for selection of the journal article

The journal was completely relevant to my research topic. I used the same words to search for the journal as I did for the first two evaluations.

4. General evaluation of the journal article

The article was published in October of last year so it is very current and is up to date with google, which grows everyday. The intended audience could be anyone, such as myself, who has an interest in google. It is published in a major banking journal so that would lead me to believe that it is very authentic and credible.

5. Example strategies used to search within the journal

I used search terms such as “internet and profit”, “internet advertising”, and also “google and profit” to search for journals.

6. Brief summary of the information yielded by the journal article

The journal article I chose to use was not nearly as helpful as information that I got from the book and website evaluations. The information in almost all of the journals did not discuss my research topic quite in the way that I was looking for, but the second section did say a little bit about how google makes most of it’s revenue and it said that “a big share of profits comes from advertising.” (Orr)
